Classes

Our classes are on Thursday evenings in Castleside at the Scout Hut between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM. And the club instructor is Master Raymond McAleer 4th Dan.

Other suitable venues and times can be found in the Teuk Soo association, please check the links page.

After attended the club and finding it suitable, students must purchase insurance. The insurance will cover for any accidents that might happen, is also a requirement for training and importantly for grading. Students must also wear an officially recognised WTF Taekwondo suit. Suits also known as a Dobok can be purchased through any club instructor, most sport shops or via the internet. The safety and welfare of all students is a priority for instructors within the Teuk Soo group.

The lesson

A lesson will always start with a warm up for all students, this is a set of exercises aimed to stretch and increase blood flow through all parts of the body. It can cover balance and stability, to stamina, endurance, co-ordination and will always vary lesson to lesson.

A student will always endeavour to increase their stretching ability and stamina, and this is reflected in the quality of their Basics, Patterns and Sparring techniques.

Students will follow a set Teuk Soo Taekwondo syllabus, receive positive constructive feedback, and have their progress checked for each progressive Grade. This will give the student a target to aim for and a record of their progress through the Grades towards a Black Belt.

Lessons vary, and this will ensure the student does not become bored with set routines. Each grade is set as a challenge which must be achieved before progressing to the next level. Then hopefully achieving a Black Belt in time..
